The chief guest for the 2013 Leyland Health Mela has been named as Dr Archie Prentice, a Consultant Haematologist and President of the Royal College of Pathologists.
Dr Prentice is a highly experienced medical professional who works on numerous working parties and committees and who holds honorary fellowships of medical institutions as far afield as South Africa, Malaysia and Pakistan. He is widely published and is currently engaged in research on behalf of the UK’s National Institute of Health Research.
He has been closely involved in providing high quality medical training and education facilities overseas – in countries such as Malta, Oman, Kuwait, Kurdistan, Iraq, West Africa, Pakistan, India and Myanmar. He therefore has an excellent understanding of the health needs of people from different cultures and ethnicities.
The National Forum for Health & Wellbeing is proud to welcome him as chief guest of Leyland’s second annual health mela.
