Drop-in Health Checks
Pop in to UCLan on Friday, November 11th
and get yourself a free Health Check
Here at NFHW we really understand the importance of regular health checks as a vital tool in monitoring and maintaining individual health and wellbeing. Because of this, we have always included a comprehensive programme of free health checks and tests – the ‘Health MOT’ – as a popular feature in our regular Health Melas. Over the last twenty years many thousands of visitors have taken advantage of this test programme and benefitted from the associated personal health counselling overseen by friendly health professionals. In recent years the Health Mela and MOT have been strongly supported by staff and students from the University of Central Lancashire.
Because of the Covid 19 Pandemic, for over two years it has not been appropriate to offer our Health Melas to the public and as a result, the opportunity to take our Health MOT has been temporarily lost. In these circumstances it is a great pleasure to announce that on Friday November 11th, volunteer students from the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at UCLan are offering a free health check and advice to visitors which we strongly recommend to all able to attend.
This event will be held in the Social Space, Foster Building, PR1 2HE, between 10.00 am – 4.00 pm.
- The 4th year students involved are trained to do height, weight, BMI, blood pressure and give life-style advice.
- No data is stored.
- A qualified senior Pharmacist will be present to offer counselling if required.
- UCLan students have been running this session as part of their final year and in support of the National ‘Ask your Pharmacist’ month for many years.
A poster is attached with full details of the event. Although it is not essential to sign up and you may just turn up on the day, it will facilitate if you could book (free) through Eventbrite either by scanning the QR code on the poster OR using the link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ask-your-pharmacist-offering-free-health-checks-tickets-418961102937
