The National Forum for Health and Wellbeing will be bringing its award winning concept of a Health Mela to the east Lancashire town of Burnley for the very first time. The event is being organised in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire and its School of Medicine and Dentistry.

The Health Mela will be held on Saturday 11 May 2024 between 11 am and 3 pm at the University of Central Lancashire’s Victoria Mill campus (Trafalgar Street, Burnley BB11 1RA).

Mr Antony Higginbotham, Member of Parliament, will be the Chief Guest.

The event will include, as usual, stalls from a number of NHS and several voluntary organisations where visitors could get information about various services and take advantage of the opportunities available to them to take control of their own health and that of their loved ones.

There will be the customary Health MOT where visitors can have their body vitals assessed, blood tests undertaken by the Blood Drop team and receive free and confidential health advice from healthcare professionals.

Visitors could also avail themselves of Reiki taster sessions.

The event is free to attend, no prior reservation is essential and there will be free on site campus parking.

This event is being sponsored by BioSynex UK and supported, amongst others, by the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Gujrat Hindu Society, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, Northwest Ambulance Service NHS Trust, University of Bolton and many more organisations.
