National Experts to attend Preston Health Mela

The guests of honour for the annual Preston Health Mela to be held on 14 April 2018 at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) are:

Dr Chris Moulton, vice president of the Royal College of Emergency medicine and Dr Keiran Moriarty Alcohol Lead, British Society of Gastrienterologists.

Dr Chris Moulton is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Chris Moulton joined Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in 1994 and had previously worked at hospitals in Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester. He studied at the Victoria University of Manchester and his qualifications are MBChB. DRCOG. DFSRH. MRCGP. FRCA. FCEM.

Dr Keiran Moriarty CBE, FRCP, FRCPI is a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Kieran Moriarty studied medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge, and the London Hospital, Whitechapel, qualifying in 1975. He has been Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at the Royal Bolton Hospital since 1990. In 1999, he was made British Hospital Doctor of the Year and he was awarded the C.B.E. for Services to Medicine, particularly Gastroenterology, in 2002.

The focus is to address the alcohol abuse and related ill health.
