On 5th June 2014, the National Forum for Health & Wellbeing was named as a finalist in the 2014 E3 Business Awards. It has been shortlisted in the Social Enterprise of the Year category, which is open to charities and other ‘third sector’ organisations across the North West.
This is a notable achievement, particularly in view of the intense competition. Mubarak Chati, managing director of 1 Events Media, which hosts the Awards, said: “We received over two hundred entries this year from across the North West and the quality of the nominations has been outstanding. The Nominations Committee had an extremely challenging time selecting the four finalists. Well done!”
The Awards event itself will take place on Thursday 18th September at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
In selecting NFHW as one of the four finalists, judges took particular note of its track record of promoting public health, its proven ability to reach out to different parts of the community and the strong support that it has received from leading professionals in the fields of healthcare and human rights.
NFHW Chairman, Professor Romesh Gupta said: “This is wonderful news and I’d like to thanks all those who have helped to bring the organisation to this stage. It should be a matter of great pride for all the partner organisations who have worked as a team to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities and to provide learning opportunities to young health care professionals. We relish and celebrate this success.”
