The National Forum for Health and Wellbeing in partnership with the school of medicine and the University of Central Lancashire is pleased to hold the next free ‘Public Engagement Seminar’ on 18th October 2023 from 6.15 for 6.30 till 8.00 pm
Topic: Understanding & managing chronic pain
Venue: Harrington Building ( Lecture Theatre) , UCLan, Preston
Presenting team: The pain team and MSK services of the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation trust.
This interactive seminar will provide sufficient time for answering questions and concerns from the audience.
It is reported that approximately 8 million adults in the UK report chronic pain that is moderate to severely disabling. Back pain alone accounts for 40% of sickness absence in the NHS and overall it costs £10 billion for the UK economy. The seminar will focus on understanding chronic pain, its holistic management and access to pain services.
There will be plenty free car parking available at the university campus.
