We are very proud of the recent BMJ publication from Dr. Joseph Watson and the team at NFHW  on ‘whether Health Melas are able to identify undiagnosed cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors in hard-to-reach communities and encourage individuals to make lifestyle changes.

During these challenging times, it has been heartwarming to read of the positive impact NFHW Health Melas have brought to our hard to reach communities.

“The Chorley Mela organised by Dr. Romesh Gupta and colleagues picked up my diabetes-I had no idea I had it! Thanks to the excellent advice from the Mela staff and my GP, I’ve been able to control it to stop life-threatening complications. I would encourage everyone to attend this life-saving event”– A doctor at Bolton NHS FT trust
