At an impressive ceremony in King George’s Hall, Blackburn on the evening of Saturday 6thJuly 2019, the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing (NFHW), reached the final stage of the ‘Fusion’ competition by becoming a runner-up in the 2019 ‘Community Group of the Year’ award category.

The prestigious annual Fusion awards aim to reward community groups, charity workers and volunteers as well as business and sporting talent across the North West.

The Fusion event is organised by the popular and widely read publication ‘Asian Image’ with the support of influential local enterprises, local government, academic organisations and the like.

Speaking of his delight in being nominated for an award, Professor Romesh Gupta, OBE, Chair of NFHW said, ‘It was a real pleasure to be nominated for this significant award and we are proud to have been considered a contender amongst competition of such exceptional quality. Our primary concern is to serve the public by the promotion of community health. It adds to our strength of purpose to have attended this event as it reminds us all of the significance and importance of community service. It is humbling to see such abundant evidence of the quality and extent of this precious commodity on display here tonight. My sincerest thanks go to all who have worked so hard to make this event possible.’

In  2014, NFHW had won the E3 Business Awards and was named Social Enterprise of the Year.
